Newtie

Newtie - 3yrs. 9mos Black Lab/Greyhound, neutered, 65 lbs, was bailed out from San Diego Bonita shelter. He gets along with other dogs.

He was dumped by second owner for "bad leg, excessive barking, nipping, bad on leash, high energy & possible separation anxiety." Owner did not want to pay for Newtie's surgery. Newtie had surgery for ruptured cruciate ligament on back right knee.

Peter dog

Peter: He is about 7-8 years old lab/shepherd mix, 42 lbs, neutered, good with other big dogs, house-trained. Peter has some problems with arthritis on hind legs, and takes some supplement for that.

His homeless owner and Peter lived in an old vehicle for a few years. The homeless man died, and left Peter behind with another homeless friend. Both of them showed up at our regular pet food distribution to homeless people. The new homeless owner agreed to let us taking Peter in exchange for some warm clothes and fast food vouchers. Peter is being fostered & can only be seen by appointment.

phil dog

Phil: He is about 9 years old lab/terrier mix, 48 lbs, neutered, good with some dogs, house-trained, NO kids, NO cats, likes to chase birds, butterflies, and rolls around on grass sun-bathing.

He has some challenge with his eyes, but his sense of smell is excellent. If there is a tiny morsel of food anywhere, he will find it. LOVES to eat.

Phil is being fostered & can only be seen by appointment.

Dog JULIE

Emo: 5-year old male chi/bichon mix 12 lbs, spayed, house-trained, gets along with other dogs, cats and kids.

Emo is deaf, but knows basic commands by hand signals. He can get lost easy, if you don't train him to follow a certain smell, or familiar odor in your home, which he can use to track down.

His elderly homeless owner died recently. Another homeless person in the neighborhood brought him to us.

Dog JULIE

Ethan: 4-year old male pit mix, 45 lbs, neutered, house-trained, knows basic commands, gets along with other submissive dogs, NO cats.

Ethan was living with his homeless owner with a small kid in a van for 16-month. We moved the homeless family to a small apartment in November 2009. Ethan was surrender to us to find a good home with yard to play outside, and a couch to sleep on inside.

Dog JULIE

King: 10-yr old male border collie mix 38 lbs, neutered, house-trained, gets along with other dogs, cats, rabbits, and kids. He can SING & has an excellent disposition like a king.

King must be on a raw food diet, and is treated by a hollistic vet, due to his major allergy challenge. Pre-application is required for King.

It costs about $200/month for King's raw food, supplements and others. He is worth every bit of it too!

Rabbit _ Pizza Rabbit _ fuzzy

Rabbits

Fuzzy (male) and Pizza (female) are a pair of three years old rabbits. They are both neutered and spayed, and must be adopted as a pair.

They are litter box trained.

King, a 10-yr old border collie mix rescue dog is their special dog friend.

King is very nice and gentle to this pair of rabbits. Fuzzy and Pizza are not afraid of King.

Every night, King comes into the rabbits' living quarter to walk the pair to their beds. It's a beautiful sight to see!
